Laying the groundwork
We had not expected to visit China at this stage in our Company's development. But, in an example of synchronicity in action, our local public television station made this trip possible. To the right you see the Great Wall of China, which we scaled during a sightseeing excursion.
Possibly the most inspiring person we have met was a former member of Mao's Red Guard. He was imprisoned and separated from his family during the Cultural Revolution, when he found himself on the receiving end of the "criticism". In order to improve the conditions of China's rural poor, he has launched a microfinance initiative, based on the Grameen Bank model. We will update this site in the future with news of our work in Asia.
