85 Broads
85 Broads is an alumnae
association of the Wall Street investment bank Goldman Sachs. (Goldman's headquarters are located at 85 Broad Street.) In March 2006, McGraw-Hill published More Than 85 Broads, the story of our members and the creative life choices they have made. Donna Childs is one of the members profiled in the book, in the hope she would show girls an inspiring view of entrepreneurship. Donna was formerly an investment banker in the financial institutions group of Goldman Sachs, where she was responsible for corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions for banks and insurance companies.

Donna's profile develops the theme of her "parallel" career that became a full-time endeavor. Her first significant project in this "parallel career" was working with Representative Bradford of the Ways & Means Committee of the Massachusetts Legislature. They developed a business plan to provide homecare services to the elderly at no incremental cost to the taxpayer. Their work was recognized with a "Better Government" Award given by Governor Weld and the Pioneer Institute.
